1. Arranging Catering for the Clients
You will not get an explicit catering order every day. Some research needs to go into understanding what the best menu would be for that particular group of passengers. In most cases, you will be offered a client profile, which can also be gathered if you aren’t given any. When you have not even an iota of information regarding the profile of the passengers, it would be ideal to look at the time of the day and speak to the last FA that flew the team. Also, make sure the food is not wasted, which is highly likely when you serve a grand meal for a one-hour flight. Check through all the crucial points and make a list to add only appropriate items to the menu so that the passengers are happy.
2. Quick Flight Servicing
This can be quite a strenuous task, especially when you don’t have enough time to organize everything. Pre-plating everything would be a good option. You can ask the caterer to deliver the food in packets or platters with names on them. Sampler plates for every individual or food will also help in the quick flights. Have the plates, napkins, and utensils ready as soon as the passengers are on board. Serving the drinks pre-departure will save enough time for the food during the flight.
3. Greeting the Passengers
Formal salutation must be used every time you greet the passengers. Their first names shouldn’t be used unless you are advised otherwise. Also, let them reach out to shake hands. Not everyone wants to have this gesture of welcoming; so, it is best to leave it to their choice. Learning the pronunciation of the passengers’ names is important. Make sure to use the titles when politicians or royalty is flying.
4. Serve the Pilots
They would be stuck in the cockpit for more than an hour or so on a trip. Try to check them at regular intervals and offer them drinks or food. Healthy snacks or beverages that keep them awake would be the ideal serving.
